First elections to the Rabbinical Council of Palestine take place and two chief rabbis are chosen: Rabbi Abraham Isaac HaCohen Kook, Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi, and Rabbi Ya'akov Meir, Sephardi Chief Rabbi.
