Dear Haverim,
Thank you so much for an interesting and very enjoyable tour of Buenos
Aires. We learned so many new facts about our Jewish heritage and how it
ties in with Argentina. I was at a shiva today and I shared the story of
Baron de Hirsch with the principal and the Head of Judaics at our kids'
Jewish Day School. No one had heard the story!. Most of them
mentioned the Nazi War criminals fleeing to Argentina. When I asked them
if they knew why the criminals went to Argentina, not one person knew.
Of course, I knew from your excellent and thorough explanation during
our tour. I am awed by the new perspective that you tour gave us!!! I
also enjoyed the many other typical Agrentinian tourist sites that we
visited. We had so much fun. Thanks again. By the way, I will be sending
you a tzedaka check for the synagogue since it was Shabbat and we didn't
want to do any monetary exchanges.
