AMIA judge Canicoba Corral questions prosecutor's complaint
AMIA case Judge Rodolfo Canicoba Corral accused prosecutor Alberto Nisman of
being "led" by Intelligence officials and he casted doubt on the content of
the complaint filed against the president for allegedly covering up Iran's
involvement in the 1994 AMIA bombing.
Canicoba Corral said that while "prosecutors are supposed to lead the
investigation with the Police and Intelligence Office," in Nisman's case,
"those who are supposed to lead end up being led."
The federal judge pointed out that the phone tapping records that according
to Nisman give details of how president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner
negotiated with Iran over AMIA in order to boost grain exports and to obtain
oil, "were made without any controls and with no certainty regarding its
authenticity."
He expressed his "surprise" over the fact that Nisman chose judge Ariel Lijo
to file the complaint, instead of him, who is already involved in the AMIA
probed.
