Everett Family Donates $1 Million for Educational Center in Kiryat Tivon

June 29, 2006 / 3 Tammuz 5766

Library and technology center, among the most advanced in Israel, opened thanks to donation of the Everett family from the United States

On July 8, in the Oranim Teachers’ College near Kiryat Tivon, a library and technology center, among the most advanced in Israel, were formally dedicated.  The ceremony was held in the presence of the donors, Mrs. Edith Everett and her daughter, Carolyn, former Education Ministry director Eliezer Shmueli, Mr. Hagai Meirom, who has recently been named treasurer of the Jewish Agency, and many guests.

The Everetts were among the firsts to join the effort during the mid-1980’s to help build high schools in development towns in Israel, including a school in Hatzor Haglilit, through the Israel Education Fund of the Jewish Agency.

For the last forty years, they have assisted in initiating many projects, particularly in northern Israel.

The library in Oranim and the technology center were built in memory of the late Henry Everett, husband of Edith and father of Carolyn, who, together with his wife, contributed greatly to the State of Israel.

The Everett family donated $1 million towards the construction of the library and technology center.

The family plans on continuing their involvement in Israel and help in its development, as it has done in the past.
