Shalom y Buenos Dias!
Please forgive us for not responding to you sooner. We had
an absolutely wonderful experience with you, touring the sites of
Jewish Buenos Aires. You gave us a comprehensive tour and you
were very knowledgeable and informative about the Jewish people of
your country. Seeing the sites that we have heard and read
about was very special to us, especially the Immigration Center,
which is so reminiscent of the sites we have seen at Ellis Island
here in the United States. We realized that it was random
whether our ancestors came to the U.S. or to South America. Our
history is so similar.
Hearing you tell of Baron de Hirsch, the German philanthropist
who aided the early immigrants, had special meaning for
us, as he also aided the Jews who settled in Woodbine, New Jersey,
where our family has roots. We could not have imagined that we
would be talking about Woodbine while so many miles from our home.
It really is a small world!
We enjoyed seeing the synagogue where you became a Bar
Mitzvah. The sanctuary was beautiful and we also enjoyed
seeing the chapel where the daily minyan is held. The
bookcases holding prayer books dating back to the 1800's reminded us
of similar bookcases we have seen in the synagogue in Woodbine.
We found the Once neighborhood very interesting and enjoyed the
kosher dairy lunch and shopping!
We were very impressed with all of the sites we saw on our tour.
Salito, you were very friendly and made us feel very comfortable,
answering all of our questions and taking us to all of the sites
that we had requested. We enjoyed our time with you and only
regret that the time went so fast. We definitely feel that it
was money well worth spent, and we would not hesitate to recommend
Jewish Tours Argentina to anyone traveling to your country.
In addition, we appreciated the driver that picked us up at the
airport on our arrival and transported us to our hotel. He was
waiting for us with a sign with our name, took care of our luggage
and made us feel comfortable at the end of a very long and tiring
journey. The cost was little more than a cab would have been
for very personalized service.
Paying in advance for both the transportation from the airport
and for the Jewish Tour was convenient and easy. The email
correspondence that we received prior to our trip was informative
and helpful.
Thank you very much for all that you did to make our trip to
Buenos Aires a wonderful, memorable experience! Jewish
Tours Argentina provides excellent service and we highly recommend
your tours.
P. S. We are still planning to send you pictures of
Woodbine as soon as we can.
