Shalom ,
We just arrived home yesterday and
I am now catching up on my messages.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of
Jewish Buenos Aires and the time we spent with you. Your
descriptions of the history and culture of the Buenos Aires Jewish
community was excellent and we enjoyed all of the places that you
took us. But your warmth made the tour very special. The steak
dinner that I had at Mama Jacinta's Restaurant was perhaps the best
steak dinner I ever had. Argentinean beef is excellent. After lunch
we walked over to the Abasto Shopping Mall and saw the Kosher
Macdonalds before returning to our hotel. We enjoyed Erev Shabbat
services at the Bet Hillel Synagogue and Saturday morning we walked
to a very nice traditional conservative service at the
Libertad Synagogue. The reformed congregation was off for the
summer.
Our cruise to Antarctica and the
landings in Antarctica were spectacular.
Thank you once again for helping to
make our stay in Buenos Aires so enjoyable. We always strive to
learn about and meet the people in the Jewish communities
wherever we travel.
